My name is Ralf Willenbrock, I am working as project manager for ERTICO I.T.S Europe, a world-wide network of Intelligent Transport Systems (I.T.S.) experts and an umbrella for developing navigation and telematics services since 1997. The Network includes the Associations I.T.S Asia-Pacific, I.T.S America and ERTICO (I.T.S Europe) organizing I-T-S World Congresses every year rotating from one region to the next. I.T.S reflects a new market appearing due to the growing number of cars over 1 billion connected to mobile devices of more than 8 billion. The potential of connecting nomadic devices and vehicles goes hand in hand with the massive commercialization of smartphones and Cloud-Services bringing the Internet-of-Things to reality. Nevertheless, all these devices need smart users, in especially when we want to use these devices for climate protection measures. That is the intention of this web-page: create sustainable new markets by converging two of the most successful industries ever "Automotive" and "Mobile Communication" to manage the challenges of implementing low carbon mobility! In 2022, one important milestone on this roadmap was the successful publication of ISO-23795-1 standard for eco-drive assistance. Initiated by ERTICO and T-Systems, it the Physics of Driving APP solution proved to measure climate impact by smart phones in several EU-funded research projects and is now available for free-of-charge download in iOS APP Stores and Android Play Store.
